Case 1 - The bad international adoptees

During my time in Uganda I've met hundreds of families seeking out a Ugandan child to adopt internationally, on the main part it's Americans who come to Uganda to adopt because of the loop holes in their law that mean they don't have to sit out the 3 year legal guardianship order in Uganda.  During my meetings with these families I have been completely dumb struck by some of their attitudes, adopting a child from Uganda is a privilege and not a right but most of the families I've met are adopting for in my opinion "the wrong reasons".  Whether it be to show a baby in church and say to everyone look I saved an African baby or whether its to prove they are "good people".  Don't get me wrong I have also witnessed some wonderful families who will bring their children up fantastically and give them the best shot at life ever, but in the most part with the Ethiopia borders closing to international the crazies are moving to Uganda.

Over the coming weeks I'll be exposing some of the things that I have witnessed first hand and some of the blogs I've come across with regards to shocking international adoption stories, from baby shopping to buying children from parents and coercing family members with bribes to give up their child for a better life, trust me I've seen it all.  Whatever I've seen you will see too, let the exposure begin
